What to Consider Including on Your Wedding Day Checklist

Wedding planning is stressful. Unless you are having a quiet elopement, there are so many things to pay for and arrange. Even on the day of the wedding, you have so much to do!

If you are worried about forgetting something, do not be. We have compiled a wedding day checklist so you can relax when the time comes for your special event. Keep reading to learn more.

Bring Bags

Make sure that everyone at the wedding party has a bag for their things. While this is most important for the spouses-to-be, even bridesmaids and groomsmen will benefit from a bag.

When the wedding party arrives to get ready, they will most likely be in their normal clothes. They need somewhere to put their things if they want to pack up and leave quickly at the end of the event. This point is also where they can put any beauty products that they need.

For the spouses, make sure that your bag is equipped with:

  • Tips for vendors
  • Wedding paperwork
  • Rings (don’t forget these!)
  • Vows
  • Wedding paperwork
  • Shoes for after the ceremony

Brides may also want to pack a spare dress for the reception.

Must-Have Unexpected Items

There are a few things that you will want to pack that you might not expect. Keep in mind that weddings are long and stressful. You do not want to run out of steam or deal with any pesky roadblocks. Include some helpful items in your wedding checklist.

Consider bringing along:

  • Easy snacks (granola bars are great)
  • Water
  • Pain relief
  • Makeup or nail polish for touch-ups
  • Oil blotters
  • Deodorant
  • Sanitary products
  • Bandages
  • Mints
  • A travel sewing kit

Plan for Wiggle Room

Your wedding day schedule should have some spare room for when people are moving from one place to another. Always give yourself more time than you think you will need.

You might be anxious to get from the preparation area to the ceremony or the ceremony to the reception but relax. Your guests will benefit from the extra time, and you get to relax or make more time for photos.

Consider having a cocktail hour after the ceremony but before the reception so any early guests can mingle.

Put Someone In Charge

With all the excitement from the wedding, you have forgotten something important. Who is going to clean up?

Some wedding planners arrange the cleanup, but it is a good idea to have a designated person (or group) to make sure that you leave the venue(s) squeaky clean.

These people can also gather the guestbook, wedding gifts, spare decorations, and extra food or wedding favors. You can even put them in charge of making sure that the remnants of the cake make their way back to your home.

You should not have to clean up after your wedding. You have a honeymoon to get to!
